Sautéed Pinto Beans


Ingredients

  • 1 can pinto beans, drained and thoroughly rinsed
  • 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 1/2 oz lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • hot sauce, to taste
  • cilantro, chopped, to taste

Directions

  1. Heat a sauté pan, add oil and start frying the beans, garlic and cumin
  2. After about 2 minutes, add the tequila and lime juice. Add hot sauce if you are using it.
  3. Cook until the tequila is cooked off, and the liquid is absorbed by the beans.
  4. Take off the heat, add any optional extra ingredients and serve right away
